Watch out, Austin drivers – Downtown may soon become a Red Light District. Austin’s red light camera pilot program has ended, and the Austin City Council will soon approve funding for additional cameras to be installed around town.
From News8Austin:
In a memo to Austin city council members, Assistant City Manager Rudy Garza states that next week council members will get a chance to choose a vendor to install the cameras.
Although fines for running through an intersection have not been determined, many cities with the cameras impose a fine of $75-100 per offense.

When I was in school I used to work on 6th street. Catching the occasional is traffic runner I guess is ok. But I think it might be of more use on 6th. When fights broke out the police seemed to practice a “The kid that looks wierd probably started the fight. That drunk frat boy looks clean cut so he obviously didn’t”. Since I worked there and had a good vantage point I occassionally tried to give a statement to police. But if my statement contradicted the “slacker kid always starts the fight” it was pretty much ignored.
Huh?
this site is for cheuers gays and every one how works in the red light district can suck it
is a cheuer? is that the new hip term for austinites?
