Yesterday, on behalf of the City of Austin, council member Lee Leffingwell proclaimed that March 8 is BarCampAustin Day. For those unfamiliar, BarCamp is an unconference – “an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment.”
So the event is finally (almost) here – come to GSD&M’s Idea City tomorrow from 10am ’til late for a free, nerdalicious party featuring presentations by tech-industry masterminds (one is “White House 2.0,” on the 2008 election being the first Internet Election), demo sessions, a performance of 3, 2, 1 Kill! by ColdTowne, battlebots, live music from Soulhat, Karaoke Apocalypse, and free beer and food. We at That Other Paper couldn’t be more excited about sponsoring this.
