I haven’t seen Cloverfield yet, but it must be totally awesome. People are already getting drunk and stealing stuff to re-create it. That’s enough proof for me. Here’s a story from My Fox Austin:
Austin Police arrested a 20-year-old man for stealing a golf cart in a drunken attempt to re-create a scene from the movie ‘Cloverfield. According to an arrest affidavit, police were dispatched to the call in the 6900 Block of McNeil Dr. When officers questioned the suspect, he told them hew was trying to re-enact a scene from the hit movie, and that he was “being an idiot”. Officers also say a strong odor of alcohol was on his breath. The suspect has been charged with theft.
