Last month at The Hideout, That Other Paper proudly sponsored Big Star Burlesque, a local plus-size burlesque troupe. The show was a blast – vaudeville, live music, fabulous ladies, and plenty of pasties. Those who didn’t get a chance to see it seriously missed out.
But! This Saturday, Big Star’s back. They’ll be performing at the Louisiana Swamp Thing and Crawfish Festival from 9pm to 9:25pm. The festival starts at 10:30am and lasts until after midnight, so you can even make a day of it and enjoy all kinds of Louisiana goodness (we’re talkin’ 6,000 pounds of jumbo crawfish, live music, and more crawfish). It’s all happening at MLK and Congress (across from the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum). Tickets are $8 – get ’em at the festival or online.
And if you can’t make it to Big Star’s performance this Saturday, they’ll be performing at the Hideout at 8pm on April 14th. I really can’t say enough good things about their show, so check it out.
