Nothing brings a couple together like violence on ice. So this Saturday, take your date to watch our minor-league hockey team the Ice Bats chew up, spit out, and give rabies to the Corpus Christi Rayz. Show your home-team support by driving to the outskirts of Pflugerville for dinner, bats, and beer.

It’s Operation Blue Santa night

Hockey and charity? How could a game so naughty also be so nice? The bats have teamed up with the Austin Police Department for Operation Blue Santa, an organization that donates food and toys to thousands of families in need. Get on Santa’s nice list: Bring a wrapped present to the game (you’ll get $5 off your ticket). Your generosity might also prevent Fang, the Ice Bats’ mascot, from secretly weeping underneath his costume.
