That Other Paper is offering editorial, advertising, graphic design, and web design internships to qualified and motivated individuals.
To apply, email your résumé and a cover letter that explains a little about you and what you’d be able to contribute to internships at thatotherpaper dot com. If we like what we see, we’ll ask you to come in for an interview. Note that in order to become an intern at That Other Paper, you must be getting course credit.
Web design and development internships
Both creative and technical applicants will be considered. Applicants with crossover skills — the ability to handle both creative and technical aspects of web design — are especially valuable.
Required skills:
- Working knowledge of HTML/XML and CSS (not simply using a WYSIWYG editor like Dreamweaver)
- Experience working with a content management system (Drupal, WordPress, Mediawiki, etc.)
- Creative applicants must be comfortable using Photoshop or Illustrator
- Technical applicants must be comfortable using PHP and MySQL
Preferred skill:
- Experience designing or developing for Drupal
Application materials:
- Include links to at least three websites you’ve worked on. Describe exactly how and in what capacity you contributed to those websites.
- Your résumé should list:
- software packages you’ve used (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) and your degree of proficiency
- web-based platforms you’ve used (Drupal, WordPress, etc.) and your degree of proficiency
- your proficiency in popular web development platforms (PHP, MySQL, etc.)
- your preferred computing platform (Mac, PC, Linux)
