Nah, it doesn’t have to be boring. Though many of us may be tempted to focus all of our attention on the presidential race when it comes to politics, we really shouldn’t write off the local stuff. Enter the voting booth prepared (early voting starts today!) — read about the upcoming City Council election by perusing these fine links that make getting informed a breeze:
- Burnt Orange Report is going nuts with city council election coverage, and we love it. Go visit them to watch campaign ads and learn about who’s running.
- The Chronicle’s Newsdesk is the place to be for witty commentary and updates on the election.
- Austin Political Report is covering much more than this election, so if you like what you see, be sure to subscribe to their RSS feed.
- The Austinist has interviewed some of the candidates — and the questions they’ve asked make for a non-boring read.
You can vote in the City Council election on May 10. Find out more here. If you’d like to vote early, that happens April 28–May 6; more info on that is here.

I’m voting for the person with the coolest poster, you can’t go wrong with that.
